Central Alberta AA Sting Ringette Club 2024-25 Season Invitation Letter
Dear Ringette Players:
You are invited to the Central Alberta AA Ringette evaluations at the end of August 2023. These tryouts will be for the 2024/2025 playing season. We are excited to be able to offer a u19AA program this year. Evaluations will be held at the Eagle Builders Center Arena 1 in Blackfalds.
The Central Alberta AA Ringette Club was established in 2005 to provide local girls who dreamt of one day competing at the Canada Winter Games, in the National Ringette League, at University Ringette, or even on the Canadian National Ringette Team a vehicle to achieve that goal. Though the commitment of AA Ringette may not be for all girls, it does provide an opportunity for those girls who desire to take the great game of ringette to a higher level of competition while uniting associations, teams, and athletes.
This represents the highest level of competitive ringette in Alberta. Attendance at team functions and practices are critical. Players must be prepared to dedicate a minimum of two nights per week to this program (excluding games). Both players and parents must decide before committing to the team that their personal time and other commitments will allow them to meet their AA Ringette obligations. We are sensitive to the unique academic and athletic demands outside of AA Ringette and are prepared to discuss any concerns in this regard with those players who have committed to the program. Over the last decade, many of our athletes have continued to compete in other sport activities away from the rink.
It is our belief that by offering the highest level of competition to talented and committed players, we will continue to increase the depth and skill level of all Zone 4 ringette players.
Team selection will be based on ringette and skating skills, attitude, team play, commitment, effort, and enthusiasm. Independent AA evaluators will do the on-ice player evaluations.
During the season, our teams will attend several tournaments, likely including one to two out-of-province tournaments. The Alberta AA Provincial Championships have been historically held in late February. The potential to earn a berth for the Western Canadian Championships will be a possibility for the U14AA level and the Canadian Ringette Championships will be possible for the U16AA and U19AA level if successful at the provincial tournament.
Costs per player will depend on the number of tournaments, ice times and other activities. Teams will fundraise and seek sponsorship opportunities to keep costs down. All parents will be assigned duties within the team and additionally we will be looking to fill board positions.
We require a firm commitment to try out for the teams by June 30th, 2024. Anyone interested must register on RAMP which is posted on our association website (https://centralalbertaaaringetteclub.com/). It is important that every player shows up in shape and with a positive attitude. Evaluations have a $100.00 fee.
Applications for Head Coach will be posted on the website in April and will be completed by May 1st. The head coaches of both teams will be announced prior to the June 30th deadline.
